Sea Shanty Sing-along In-Person
Join Ottawa's only sea shanty band, the Bytown Sea Shanty Collective, for an afternoon of camaraderie and rollicking tunes! Bytown Sea Shanty is a totally accessible singing experience - there is no need for background musical experience and no pressure. Lyric books are provided and BSSC lead all the shanties so there is no stress on you. Participation is optional - feel free to just sit back and listen if that's more your style.
Did you know? Sea shanty is a traditional music genre that originated on ships. The songs were sung while sailors performed challenging and rhythmical tasks to coordinate efforts and lift spirits.
